Without a doubt, Lee’s swivel base rod holder is the “Ultimate Rod Holder” for the serious sportsman. Primarily designed to be used with bent butt tackle, the rod holders unique swivel base allows the rod butt to rotate in the rod holder when side pressure is applied to the tip of the rod. The rod is more easily removed from the holder since it is not locked on a rigid pin. The swivel base holder functions as a standard rod holder when used with straight butt rods. Straight butt rods can be manually rotated so that the line remains on the tip’s roller. The amount of torque required to rotate the swivel is set by adjusting the pressure on two nylon drag washers with a ½ inch stainless steel lock nut at the bottom of the rod holder.

Swivel Base Rod Holders are available as Standard, Heavy Duty, Short, and Extra Long Tube models.

The Extra Long Versions of these rod holders are 4” longer than the standard length, allowing the bent butt to sit deeper in the holder thus reducing the leverage and stress on the mounting surface.

For the “Ultimate Installation” use Lee's stainless steel backing plates. Designed for Lee swivel base and heavy flush rod holders, they’re constructed from heavy gauge type 316 stainless plates and have built in safety eyes on both sides. Available in two models, the RH5900 accommodates 0 & 15 degree rod holders in gunnels up to 1-3/4” thick.

The RH5930 plate model accommodates 30 degree rod holders in gunnels up to 1-1/2” thick.

Both come complete with stainless bolts, locknuts and washers for a maximum strength installation.
